Ghengis Khan Mongolian BBQ

My good friend Jerry mention Mongolian BBQ, this morning, and it made me crave it like a fat boy craves cake.  Thus began my search for the closest joint.  I located GHENGIS  KHAN off EL TORO in Lake Forest.  I thought for sure this would be a no brainer 5 burps guaranteed,  so my mouth was watering the minute I pulled up to the place.  As soon as I walked in...I thought...uh oh...danger Will Robinson, potential disappointment.  No one was there to greet me...just an empty station...looked around...saw some customers, but no hostess or waiters anywhere.  Poked my head in a little more and there was a little asian lady sitting in a booth eating...she looked at me...and said hi, but she still sat there talking to some dude.  I thought, am I doing it wrong?  Is there a secret word I am supposed to say?  I moved forward to look at the ingredients station thinking, maybe I just grab a plate hand have them cook it up like most other places...but it just didn't feel right...finally the little lady walked up to me and told me to take a seat.  Ummm...ok...so I sat down, and sat there for another minute...she brings me the menu and now I think, ok...things are going to be normal now.  Well, their menu is pretty simple and there are about combos to choose from.  I had my mind made up within 30 seconds...they didn't come over to take my order for about 10 minutes.  Finally another lady came up to take my order...how long do they think I have for lunch, 3 hours?  Anyway...already annoyed but I am like...I will take mediocre service if the food hits it out of the park.  Well...nope...their food is as good as their service...mediocre.  What a bummer, I really wanted to have a great lunch experience after the disastrous lunch from yesterday.  To be honest...the Mongolian BBQ place at the MainPlace mall is soooo much better than this and cheaper too.  The Pocket Biscuits were by far the best part of the meal...those bad boys were really good.  2.5 burps and a sad face.  =(

By the way...here is my fotune cookie.  Even though it is very much out of focus, it says "Be prepared to receive something special".  I am assuming that I will be having a special dinner tonight?
