I went to Rubio's Baja Grill today for lunch today. I wasn't sure what I was going to order. Was I going to go the burrito route, or their tasty tacos? It was going to be a game time decision. I walked up to the cashier and lo and behold, they had some new (to me) GOURMET GRILLED TACOS! WHHAAATTT? Hmmm...they looked tasty, so I figured I would try them. They had a combo where you could get 2 different tacos, so I went with that. I got one Mahi Mahi, and one Grilled Garlic Herb Shrimp. I am a sucker for a tasty picture, and these pictures on their menu were tasty.
http://www.rubios.com/menu/ I got the bill, damn! $10.00 for the two tacos, some beans, chips and a drink. Thought to myself, self, these better be some damn good tacos. I don't know if you were in the Lake Forest are today, but it was/is a GORGEOUS day today. I decided to go outside and eat my lunch in the sun. It was hot, but I was happy to bask in the glory of a true summer day!!! So back to the tacos. I dug into the Shrimp taco first...BAM! Flavors, spices, tastiness, tears of joy! YES, Rubio's knows that you better bring it if you are going to charge a pretty penny and call something gourmet. BAM! Super great taco!!! Everything about it, the ingredients, the flavors just burst in your mouth! I was mad at the paper chingadera for sucking up some of the sauce that spilled out and absorbed that extra stuff. HOW DARE YOU! Looked around, would someone see me lick the paper? I must resist...but wait, there is still another taco! Salvation...I went in for the kill thinking that the Mahi Mahi could not be nearly as good as the shrimp taco. I love it when I am wrong for all the good reasons. The fish taco was a lot better! Whaaaaat? Yup...so good, believe that! So now I have a full happy belly and a sunburned forehead. $10 well spent. 5 burps without a doubt, eat these tacos. Why are you still here? Go on and get you some! Enjoy your bonus video today.
